Welcome to the Cyber-Soup Shack, home to my personal writings, as well as a plethora of other pages for you to explore. This site is dedicated to sharing with you what life is like for me as a disabled mother & hopefully entertain & encourage you. I make no bones about my disability as it is not something you can change. What I've done is to focus on things I could change like my attitude. THAT is how I got out of the hospital's ICU in a mere six days as badly injured as I had been, I was still released in two months and a day. Having the support of your friends and family is so very important for anyone with a disability.

If you are a parent with a child who isn't talking at three years old or who was overweight (Jackie, my 13 year old autistic son, at his heaviest was 55 pounds at 17 months old.) I encourage you to go seek help. I've made Jackie's pages to share my personal parenting experiences with my son. It is recently updated and the Photo Gallery has a new set of pictures added. (Note it was new three years ago-I have to do more photo galleries soon so check back another time.)

When I first envisioned a website it was basically to host some pages of poetry, fiction, pictures of my adorable son and to reach out to others in an inspiring way-being physically challenged is very hard as is parenting a child with developemental delays or a diagnosis of PDD or Autism. Because I am very confident in myself and the way my son is moving along just fine at 9 years old-I wanted to share my insight with others who are just hitting the bumps in the long road it takes to getting a diagnosis of anything for your child if these things are suspected.

I am very grateful for all that I have and thankful for the wonderful blessing my son is. I am glad to have met so many incredible people online and shared some wonderful fun at my message board and others over the past couple years and if you have never been to a message board I assure you it is a great thing when used properly and can be a nightmare if you aren't careful-there are some nasty people in the world and that goes for people online.

I am very proud of the ones I run with my online friend Chris and we have several we run together for entertainment and tech or web design related help, so if you're interested come on over and check it out. If you feel isolated-message boards can help you find like-minded folks with the same interests such as Autism Support amoung many other things. It can make you feel connected to people you may never meet face to face, but that friendships formed will be as real as any others.

Hope you enjoy your Cyber-Soup and hope to see you on the boards! And if you haven't already, Please take the time to sign my NEW Bravenet Guestbook & thanks for coming to The Cyber-Soup Shack!
