I have really enjoyed watching Animal Planet for years now. One of my favorite shows is The Crocodile Hunter. I am a big Steve & Terri Irwin fan, hooked from the moment I first saw their show on The Discovery Channel. I really feel that they demonstrate what is best about mankind in that their unconditional love for animals not only brought them together as a couple, but has brought to us, the television audience, years of enjoyment and enlightenment about wildlife of all kinds. They show us all kinds of animals and sometimes Steve gets bit or gored or hurt, but he doesn't complain one bit. They've even shared the birth of their gorgeous daughter Binndie Sue and knee surguries done on Steve recently-all on their show.
You have to give it to them that they really go way above and beyond the call of duty for a television series. I was watching Animal Planet last night (July 16th 2002) and saw sides of them both that really hit home what wonderful REAL people they are. I am a animal lover myself and wanted to make a fan page addition to my website because I think that of any show I've ever watched, this one has really been one that has touched me deeply and left me feeling more in touch with the world around me, through watching their journies I have seen whales dying on a beach, seen Steve and Terri BOTH feeling the same anguish that I felt when I saw those powerful images of those helpless animals who'd beached themselves thinking they were going to help their other pod members who were in trouble. My heart went out to them and appreciated that they stayed there, comforting those magnificent animals in their last moments on earth.
I have to say that they have most definitely raised awareness of animal issues across the globe and thank goodness they have. As a fan of the show I want to thank you both, Steve & Terri and all of your wonderful staff members there at Australia Zoo for the incredible work you're doing and will continue doing because you all passionately love the animals you work with-you've touched so many people's lives and through you people like me can live out our dreams of going on a wild journey like you take us on every episode.
